Policy on AI-Generated Content

This policy promotes the ethical and responsible use of AI in research, emphasizing transparency, originality, and accountability for the potential impacts of their work.  Overall, it serves as a crucial framework for promoting the ethical use of AI in research and advancing our understanding of its societal implications. By being responsible in their use of AI, authors can ensure that their research is credible, reliable, and contributes positively to the advancement of knowledge. Authors submitting their manuscripts to the Journal are required to adhere strictly to the following AI policy:

Scope of AI Use in Manuscripts

Authors may use AI tools to assist with language, but they are not allowed to use these tools for creating a manuscript. This encompasses AI-supported writing, data analysis, image creation, and other research-related activities. All manuscripts that have utilized AI must comply with the journal's standards for academic excellence, originality, and ethical conduct. They should thoroughly understand how the AI technology works and be transparent about their methods and data sources.

Ethical Considerations:

  1. Authorship and Accountability: AI tools should not be acknowledged as authors or co-authors of a manuscript due to their inability to be held accountable and assume responsibility for the research. Authors should thoroughly understand how the AI technology works and be transparent about their methods and data sources. It is imperative that authors take full responsibility for the content, accuracy, and integrity of their manuscripts.

  2. Transparency: Authors are required to provide a concise statement in either the methods or acknowledgments section outlining the precise contribution of AI technologies to the writing process if use has been made beyond language fluency. It is required that all authors disclose any use of AI in the preparation of their manuscript. This transparency is crucial in order to clarify the level of AI participation for readers.

  3. Data Integrity: AI-generated data or results must be verifiable. Authors must disclose any limitations or potential biases introduced by AI tools. The use of AI must not compromise the integrity, reproducibility, or credibility of research findings.

Plagiarism and Ethical Concerns

AI tools should not be utilized to create content that violates plagiarism standards. It is the responsibility of authors to guarantee that any content generated or assisted by AI is original, correctly cited, and in full compliance with the ethical guidelines of the journal. Additionally, AI-generated content should not inadvertently lead to plagiarism or the duplication of existing work.

Author Responsibility and Liability

Authors should consider AI as a valuable tool that enhances research processes while upholding the significance of essential quality checks, human assessment, and meaningful intellectual contributions. The authors bear full responsibility for any errors, biases, or ethical violations that may arise from utilizing AI tools in their research. Although AI technologies can aid in specific tasks, human authors are ultimately accountable for the final content and ensuring compliance with journal standards.

Rejection of Fully AI-Generated Manuscripts

The journal mandates that all manuscripts must have significant human authorship, oversight, and contribution. Submissions created solely by artificial intelligence will not be considered for publication.

While AI technology can certainly improve readability and efficiency in the writing process, it is unable to fully replicate the unique human elements that are crucial to authorship, such as intellectual insight and scientific integrity. These qualities are what truly define the essence of a piece of writing and set it apart from automated content.
